About Polygon WP Theme

Polygon is a multipurpose WordPress theme built by ThemeMove. It ships with a drag-and-drop page builder, a large collection of pre-built demo sites, and a clean codebase that works well for agencies, portfolios, and business sites.

The theme leans on WPBakery Page Builder and includes a custom header builder, mega menu support, and built-in WooCommerce compatibility. ThemeMove releases regular updates, and the documentation covers most setup scenarios without needing to dig through support forums.

Out of the box, Polygon handles typical business site requirements: contact forms, team pages, pricing tables, sliders, and service sections. It is not a niche theme, so it suits a wide range of clients who want something presentable without paying for custom development from scratch.

Who is Polygon for?

Creative Agency

Polygon’s agency demo includes case study layouts, team sections, and service pages that map well to what a creative studio needs. The portfolio grid supports filtering by category, and the header builder lets you keep branding consistent across sections without custom code. A developer can extend this with custom project post types and filtered archive pages.

Freelance Portfolio

The theme’s portfolio modules and fullscreen hero options work well for freelancers who want a visual-first site. You can set up a single-page layout using anchor navigation, which keeps things simple for visitors. Adding a contact form, testimonials section, and a downloadable PDF CV is straightforward with Polygon’s built-in elements.

WooCommerce Store

Polygon includes WooCommerce-ready shop, product, and cart page templates. You can adjust the product grid columns, enable quick view, and use the theme’s colour controls to match your brand. For more advanced store customisation, such as custom product tabs or checkout changes, a WordPress developer familiar with both Polygon and WooCommerce is the right call.

Corporate Business Site

Polygon’s corporate demo includes service sections, stats counters, client logo grids, and a blog layout. These cover most of what a B2B company page needs. The mega menu support is useful when you have multiple service lines or locations to organise. It reads professionally out of the box and scales without feeling like a template site.

Consulting Firm

Consulting firms need credibility signals: team bios, case studies, speaking or publication listings, and a clear services breakdown. Polygon handles all of these with its existing elements. Pairing it with a lead capture form and a simple CRM integration makes the site functional as a business tool, not just a brochure.

Customizing Polygon

Polygon gives you a lot of control through the Theme Options panel and WPBakery, but that flexibility comes with complexity. Matching a specific brand identity, adjusting the header layout beyond defaults, or making the mobile experience feel polished often requires CSS work or PHP customisation.

A Polygon expert can handle that work cleanly. Rather than stacking overrides in the Customizer or fighting with shortcode markup, a developer who knows the theme structure can modify it properly without breaking updates.

Custom post types, advanced WooCommerce layouts, and third-party plugin integration are common requests that go beyond what the theme settings cover. If your project needs those, working with a Polygon WordPress developer saves time and avoids the kind of patchwork that causes problems later.

Recommended plugins for Polygon

Polygon works alongside most major WordPress plugins without conflicts. WooCommerce integration is built in, and the theme supports Contact Form 7, WPML for multilingual sites, and Slider Revolution for advanced sliders.

If site speed is a concern, pairing Polygon with a proper caching and optimisation setup makes a measurable difference. Our WordPress performance service covers that. For sites that need search visibility, a structured approach to on-page SEO using Yoast or Rank Math is worth handling properly. See our WordPress SEO service for details.

Polygon common issues

Polygon theme demo import not working

Demo import failures in Polygon are usually caused by PHP memory limits or upload size restrictions on the server. Check that memory_limit is set to at least 256MB and upload_max_filesize allows files over 32MB. Some hosts also time out long import requests. If the import fails partway through, try importing the content XML manually via the WordPress importer, then apply the theme settings file separately through Polygon’s import panel.

WPBakery elements not showing in Polygon

If WPBakery elements are missing or the page builder shows a blank editor, the most common cause is a plugin activation conflict or a version mismatch between WPBakery and Polygon. Make sure you are using the bundled version of WPBakery that ships with the theme via TGM Plugin Activation, not a separately purchased or updated version. Deactivate other plugins temporarily to isolate the conflict. Our WordPress bug fixing service can resolve this if you are stuck.

Polygon header not displaying correctly on mobile

Polygon’s header builder gives a lot of control on desktop, but mobile header behaviour is handled separately and often needs manual adjustment. Check the mobile header settings inside the Header Builder panel and verify that the hamburger menu is assigned correctly. If the logo overlaps the menu or the sticky header misfires on scroll, that usually requires CSS targeting specific breakpoints. This is a common fix and does not take long with the right knowledge.

Polygon theme slow page load after installing

Slow load times after a Polygon demo import are common because demo content includes large images, Slider Revolution files, and Google Fonts calls. Start by compressing images, removing unused sliders, and limiting the number of fonts loaded. Polygon does not include built-in caching, so you will need a plugin like WP Rocket or LiteSpeed Cache. Polygon FAQ

Polygon is manageable for beginners who are comfortable with WordPress basics, but it has a learning curve. The Theme Options panel is large, and WPBakery adds another layer of complexity. If you are building a site for a client or need a specific result quickly, working with a developer who knows the theme will save you significant time and frustration.

Polygon was built around WPBakery Page Builder and is not officially compatible with Elementor. You can install Elementor alongside it, but the two builders do not share layout controls, and some Polygon theme elements only work within WPBakery. Mixing both builders on the same site is not recommended. If you prefer Elementor, a different theme is a better starting point.

Before updating Polygon, use a child theme for any custom CSS or PHP changes. If you have made edits directly to theme files, those will be overwritten on update. Back up your site first. ThemeMove documents breaking changes in their changelog, so read it before updating on a live site. Test updates on a staging environment when possible.

Yes. Polygon includes WooCommerce support with styled shop, product, cart, and checkout pages. You can adjust the product grid layout and colour scheme through the theme settings. For more advanced store features like custom checkout flows or product filtering, you will likely need additional plugins or developer work beyond what the theme provides by default.

ThemeMove has continued releasing updates for Polygon since its launch on ThemeForest. The update frequency has slowed compared to earlier years, which is common for mature themes. Core WordPress and WooCommerce compatibility updates are still released. Check the ThemeForest changelog tab on the Polygon product page for the latest update date before purchasing.
